Character: Hinamori Momo

Series: Bleach

Version: Post-Aizen incident, recently awoken from her coma -- in other words, the present version in the manga.

Age: Appears to be somewhere in her teens; in actuality? Who knows.

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: Hinamori is usually decked in typical shinigami wear, consisting of a black kimono top, matching hakama pants, tabi socks, sandals -- nothing that particularly deviates from the norm. The one difference would likely be the vice-captain band she wears on her upper-arm, marked with the emblem of the fifth squad. Her soul slayer, Tobiume, dangles at her hip. Her hair is black in color and when left loose, it hangs just a short ways past her shoulders towards the back. Most of the time, she ties it back into a bun with a light blue-green cloth, leaving only the shorter hair towards the front to dangle loose (this is just barely long enough to reach her chin). Though Hinamori's eyes are a plain brown color, they hold a certain cheerful light to them that makes them striking none the less. Or did.

Nowadays, they're dull and lifeless, black rings having long since formed beneath them. Her skin's gone pale, and she's lost a fair deal of weight. The cheerful smile that could often be found on her face had vanished, leaving in its wake a grim face that seems so out of place on the typically cheerful girl.

Personality: A kind, optimistic, caring girl, it comes as no real surprise that Hinamori had found herself a good many friends in Soul Society over the years. However, she also shows tendancies towards impulsiveness, and can be just a wee bit too trusting for her own good. Especially when it comes to her former captain. She dislikes pointless fighting, but by no means does this mean she'll hesistate to pull Tobiume out when she sees the need; particularly if anyone's hurt someone she cares about. More recently, while she does still show some sense of her old self, she's more distant and withdrawn than she used to be. She's much more prone to breaking down than she used to be, sometimes even bursting into full-blown hysterics (usually bought on by the topic of her former captain).

Abilities/Weaponry: Tobiume, when released into it's shikai state, sprouts several prong-like bars along the sides. In this state, it's capable of unleashing pink tinted balls of energy, varying in size and destructive force depending on how much energy she channels into it. Hinamori is also particularly skilled in demon arts, ranging from offensive tactics to binding and so on.

Weaknesses: Whoo-boy. Let's see; there's her undying devotion to Aizen, her denial to hold him truly accountable for his own acts. There's her current emotional instability, still running strong and likely to get worse before it gets better. That trusting nature of hers' is still very much there, and given the proper prompting, could end up exploited all over again. So long as they didn't attempt to cross Aizen, anyway. She also cares deeply for Hitsugaya... and rue to the person who tries pitting her against him again.

On the flip side, her hatred for Ichimaru runs stronger than ever. She whole-heartedly believes he's responsible for the terrible things Aizen has done, and seems almost desperate to continue on believing that regardless of what she's told. He is the target of a -lot- of projected anger and resentment for Hinamori, and by now she's downright irrational as far as he's concerned -- definately a topic to be approached with caution.

History: Hinamori, like Hitsugaya, was taken in by a sweet old woman who proceeded to raise them both. When Hinamori ventured off to shinigami academy, she made it a point to come back to visit him on her holidays. She promised him that when he enrolled and became a shinigami himself, she would finally drop her little nickname for him (Shirou-chan). Though even when he did just that, she still persisted in calling him 'Hitsugaya-kun' rather than refer to him by his full title. During her time spent training to become a shinigami, she became good friends with both Abarai Renji and Izuru Kira. It was also around this time that her hero-worship for Aizen began, and she was determined to one day join his squad.

Years passed, and as they did, the trio of friends found themselves escalating through the ranks to become vice-captains of their respective divisions -- and much to Hinamori's joy, she became second to none other than Aizen himself.

Then tragedy stuck. On her way to a meeting with her fellow vice-captains, Hinamori discovered the body of her captain hanging from one of the buildings, impaled by his own sword. It was at that moment her world began crashing down, and hasn't stopped since. She initially believed that Ichimaru had commited the deed, and didn't hesistate to attack him. However, Kira stood to battle in his own captain's defense, and not long afterwards the both of them were tossed into jail. It was here that Matsumoto delivered a letter Aizen had written specially for her, pinpointing none other than Hitsugaya as the murderer. Conflicted and outraged, though she didn't want to believe it was true, Hinamori escaped from her prison to try and avenge Aizen's death. Though confused and conflicted as she was, it was no real wonder that she was rendered unconcious before long.

When she awoke, she'd been placed into a protective barrier by Hitsugaya, and escaped to follow her childhood friend and Matsumoto to their trek to pay the Central Office of 46 a visit. Like them, she made the discovery that they'd all been killed... and not long after, was discovered by Ichimaru. Through him, she discovered that Aizen was in fact still alive. The how or why of the situation didn't matter to her. She was simply overjoyed to have him back again, driven to tears of joy and relief.

She awoke from a coma some months later to be told she'd been decieved, betrayed, stabbed through the gut, and left for dead. It goes without saying that this news was not very well-recieved. Hinamori's health has steadily declined since then, and she's since deduced that Aizen must have had a good reason for doing what he did. Most likely that he's been pressured into acting by Ichimaru -- and as a result, her resentment for the fox-faced former captain only escalated to new height. To make matters worse, though they've tried to keep the fact hidden, more and more high-ranking shinigami have seemingly vanished off the face of both the Earth and Soul Society itself with no trace left behind...
